MBBS Admission in Karnataka

The registration dates have been declared for the admission process of MBBS/BDS admission by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), the regulatory body for Karnataka MBBS Counselling 2020. The Counselling for Karnataka NEET UG 2020 will be held in online mode only. Three rounds of NEET UG Counselling will be held including a mop-up round or MBBS/BDS admission in the state. If seats remain vacant after the conclusion of the three rounds, then there is provision for conducting an additional round of counselling to fill the remaining MBBS/BDS seats. After the verification of required documents, eligible candidates will be provided with a security key which has to be used to participate in the KEA-NEET UG Counselling 2020 process by logging into the applicant portal. Candidates are required to fill in their preferences as per their rank and category for Karnataka NEET UG medical admission 2020. 

The provisional list will bear the names of the verified candidates and only the candidates whose name appear on the list will be considered eligible to participate in the Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2020. The counselling session will be held after publishing the provisional list which is likely to come out in the first week of July 2020. Karnataka NEET UG Counselling process is conducted for the 85% State Quota seats in the state of Karnataka which includes approximately 5,617 seats in medical colleges and 2,181 seats in dental colleges. Karnataka NEET UG admissions 2020 will be taken on the merit-cum-preference basis.

Karnataka MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2020

The Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS 2020 admission eligibility criteria is mentioned below.

  • Candidates applying for MBBS and BDS Admission 2020 in the state must be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates must have completed at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2020.
  • He/she should have passed class 12th in Science, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as the main subjects.
  • The candidate should have secured at least 50% in 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the major subjects.
  • SC/OBC/ST candidates must have at least 40% in 12th with the same subjects as that for the UR candidates.
  • Candidates must fulfil the domicile criteria or the other regulations depending on the type of seats that they are applying for.
  • NEET UG Cutoff 2020 as prescribed by NTA must be secured by the candidates.

42% seats of KPCF colleges:

a) General Merit: Private seats (GMP): 50% of the above 42% seats.

b) Open seats (OPN): The remaining 50% of the above 42% seats.

 

55% seats of KRLMPCA & AMPCK colleges:

a) 66% seats are reserved for the respective religious and linguistic minority

b) 50% of the 34% seats will be reserved for GMP while the remaining 50% seats will be falling under OPN quota.

NRI seats

15% of the total seats in KPCF, KRLMPCA & AMPCK colleges are reserved for the NRI candidates

Other seats

10% of the total seats in KPCF, KRLMPCA & AMPCK colleges

Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2020

Candidates have to register for NEET UG Counselling 2020 through online mode by filling in all the required details in the application form and uploading the scanned images of photograph, signature and other required documents. The counselling fee is Rs. 650/- for General and OBC and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST categories. The concerned authority will release a provisional merit list which contains the name of NEET qualified candidates who applied under Karnataka. After the release of merit list, candidates have to go through the document verification process. Verification of documents will be done at different centres as specified by the officials. Candidates must carry their original documents along with the photocopies for verification. Eligible candidates will be able to fill the options for the colleges. Based on the filled options, rank, seats availability and category, seats will be allotted to the candidates. After the final allotment of seats, candidates can remit their fees and download their admission ticket through the website. Candidates have to report to the allotted college with the required documents and fees to confirm their admission.
