NEET PG Counselling 2021 | Cutoff | Admission Process

Directorate General of Health Services on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the NEET PG Counselling 2021 in the First week of October for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses respectively. NEET qualified candidates can appear in the counselling process and the counselling will be held in online mode. Candidates qualifying the exam by securing minimum required percentile will be eligible to participate in NEET PG Counselling 2021. This is a centralized counselling process which is conducted for admission to 50% All India Quota seats, Central and Deemed Universities, and AFMS Institutions. NEET PG Counselling 2021 will be merit-based and candidates who fail to attend this process will not be considered for the further admission process. The NEET PG Medical Counselling  for 50% All India Quota seats will be conducted in two rounds while the counselling for Central & Deemed Universities will be conducted in three rounds.

NEET PG Counselling 2021: Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must qualify the NEET PG 2021 to participate in NEET PG Counselling 2020. In order to qualify the NEET PG 2021 Exam, candidates will be required to secure the minimum required percentile.
  • All the candidates who are allotted an All India Rank will be considered eligible for the NEET PG Counselling 2021.
  • Candidates belonging to the state of Jammu and Kashmir are  eligible for counselling of 50% All India Quota seats from 2021 session.
  • Only those candidates who register for the counselling process will be considered eligible for participation.
  • The seats available under Central Universities Internal Quota will be available for those candidates only who have completed MBBS degree from respective Central University.

NEET PG 2021 Cutoff

The NBE (National Board of Examination ) Will release the NEET PG 2021 results on last week of September, more than 1.5 lakhs students are eagerly waiting for the result. NEET PG 2021 cutoff will be also declared by NBE  on its official website further merit list of candidates for NEET PG 2021 will also be published.The cutoff marks for the general category candidates is 50th percentile and for sc/st/obc candidate is 40th percentile!

NEET PG Counseling 2021 Procedure

The counselling procedure will comprise the following steps:

All India Quota PG Counselling

Counselling Registration

  • Visit the official website mcc.nic.in and click the “New Registration” tab.
  • Register for the counselling.
  • Pay the counselling fee, amounting Rs.1000 (For AIQ/Central University UR candidates)/Rs.500 (For SC/ST/OBC/PH. Candidates also have to pay the tuition fee which is refundable if no seats is allotted to the candidates.

Choice Filling

  • After the online registration, candidates have to fill in choice of subjects and colleges in the order of preference.
  • Once the choice is filled, modification can be done before locking.
  • Take a print of the filled choices for future reference.
  • There is no limit regarding filling of choices.

Seat Allotment

  • After filling of choices, the seat allotment process will take place.
  • The seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of their filled choices, availability of seats, category, etc.
  • The results for Round 1 will be declared on second week of October .

Reporting

  • Candidates those for whom seats have been allotted will be required to join the allotted college/course within stipulated time.
  • After last date, no further admission will be allowed.

Round 2

  • Candidates for those whom seats have not been allotted can look at MCC website for round 2 allotment.
  • Earlier choices submitted by the candidate will be considered null and void. Fresh Choice submission for round 2 seat allotment is mandatory.
  • Candidates those for whom seats have been allotted will be required to join the allotted college/course within stipulated time.

Deemed/Central University Counselling

Counselling Registration

  • Visit the official website mcc.nic.in and click the “New Registration” tab.
  • Register for the counselling.
  • Pay the counselling fee, amounting Rs.5000 (For Deemed University candidates). Candidates also have to pay the tuition fee which is refundable if no seats is allotted to the candidates.

Choice Filling

  • After the online registration, candidates have to fill in choice of subjects and colleges in the order of preference.
  • There is no limit regarding filling of choices.

Seat Allotment & Reporting

  • After filling of choices, the seat allotment process will take place.
  • The seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of their filled choices, availability of seats, category, etc.
  • Candidates those for whom seats have been allotted will be required to join the allotted college/course within stipulated time.

Round 2

  • Candidates for those whom seats have not been allotted can look at MCC website for round 2 allotment.

  • Candidates those for whom seats have been allotted will be required to join the allotted college/course within stipulated time, else the allotted seat will be cancelled.
  • Candidates joined in the 2nd round of counseling will not be allowed to resign/leave the seat and they will not be allowed in any other counseling as well. No up gradation will be allowed from the 2nd round to DGHS Mop Up round. No provision for up gradation facility would be provided in the Round 2.

NEET PG Counselling 2021: Documents required

Candidates are instructed not to forget to bring the documents in original given below on the day of counselling.

  • NEET PG 2021 Result/Rank Letter.
  • NEET PG 2021 Admit Card.
  • Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate as a proof of date or birth.
  • Qualifying Degree Mark sheet (MBBS/BDS).
  • MBBS/BDS Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate.
  • Internship Certificate.
  • Category Certificate.
  • Identity Proof.
  • Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate as provided by MCI or State Medical Council.

NEET PG Seat Allotment 2021

After the conclusion of each counselling process, DGHS will be releasing the final result. The seat allotment letter of NEET PG Counselling 2020 is a mandatory document that needs to be carried at the time of admission. The seat allotment list will contain various details including the All India Rank, Allotted Institute, Allotted Quota, Course, Allotted Category, Candidate Category and Remarks. NEET PG Seat Allotment list will only include those candidates who are allotted seats in NEET PG Counselling process.

  • As per the schedule released for NEET PG Counselling 2021, candidates must participate online.

  1. Do I have to report to a particular centre in order to participate in the counselling process of NEET PG 2021?

The counselling process is completely online. Candidates can participate in the NEET PG Counselling 2021 from any place of convenience where they have access to internet connection.

  1. Do I require any documents to get registered online?

You will be required to fill up some of the information that you have given in your application form, and submitted to National Board Examinations.

  1. How many choices can be submitted at the time of NEET PG counselling 2021?

Candidates can submit any number of choices as they wish to do. It must be ensured by the candidates that the choices submitted are in the order of preference.

  1. If I do not submit choices then will I get allotted any seat?

In order to obtain a seat, the candidates must register for the counselling process and submit preferences. It is also required to lock their final choices. However, if the candidates do not lock their choices then the saved choices will be considered as final. Candidates who will not register or those who will not submit any choices will not be considered for NEET PG seat allotment.

  1. How much time will I be given to join the allotted course?

Candidates allotted seats will be required to join the allotted college/course within the stipulated time from the date of allotment as mentioned in the counseling schedule. However, candidates are advised to join as early as possible and not to wait for last day of joining, due to different schedule of holiday/working hours in various Medical/Dental Colleges.

  1. Do I have to fill fresh choices to participate in the second round of counselling? 

Yes, candidates will be required to submit fresh choices if they haven’t participated in the first round of NEET PG counselling 2021 or if they have not been allotted seat in the round one of counselling, or if they have not reported at the allotted college in round one and have registered fresh choices for round two. Candidates who will be allotted seat in the first round of counselling and will opt for up gradation will not be required to submit fresh choices. The higher preference will be considered in such a case.

  1. If I am not allotted any seat in the second round of counselling then will the seat allotted in the first round of counselling will be considered cancelled?

The seat allotted in round one of NEET PG counselling will be retained if a seat is not allotted in the round 2 of counselling considering the candidate has completed the admission formalities or not resigned from earlier allotted seat.

  1. What is the second round of allotment process?

Second round of online allotment process is Fresh Registration, Fresh choice filling and fresh allotment of seat as per choice and merit. There will be fresh registration and fresh Choice submission in 2nd Round for candidates who have not registered in 1st Round of Counselling and eligible candidates will be allotted seat on the basis of their choice and merit of the candidate.

  1. If a candidate is not allotted any seat in any of the rounds of counselling, then will the counselling fees be refunded?

Candidates will be submitting two types of fees during the registration- Non-Refundable Registration Fee and Refundable Tuition Fee. The non-refundable registration fee as the name signifies will not be refunded if seat is not allotted. The refundable tuition fee will be refunded to the candidates if they are not allotted a seat in any of the rounds of counselling.

  1. Can I modify my choices during the choice submission period for counseling?

Yes, you can modify, add or delete your choices during this period, before locking the choices.

  1. If I get an up-graded seat during second round of AIQ/ Deemed/Central University from Round I can I join that college directly?

No, you will have to get a relieving letter from the earlier institution/college generated online, before joining the next college/institution.

  1. What is the procedure for Mop Up Round Counseling which will be conducted by DGHS for Deemed & Central Universities?

The net vacant seats on account of Non Joining, Non Reporting of Round 2 will be published in the seat matrix and eligible candidates have to submit fresh choices and the result will be processed as per the Choice and Merit.

  1. In case candidate had to apply for both AIQ and for Deemed University should the candidate pay the fee for both?

No, in such case the candidate has to pay the higher fee i.e. of Deemed University fee amounting Rs.5000/-.

  1. Whether counseling will be conducted for 50% State Quota seats of Central Universities also, and for which universities?

Yes, counseling for 50% State quota as per the University eligibility condition will be conducted by the MCC/ DGHS for Delhi University, BHU, AMU and institutional preference will be given to candidates in 50% State Quota.

  1. What will happen to the All India Quota (50%) seats of Central Universities remained vacant after the second round of All India Quota Counseling?

Seats of Central Universities remained vacant after the second round of All India Quota Counseling will be considered in the mop-up round of the counselling conducted by MCC/DGHS.
